The hardest-to-find rare items (trinkets and talisman parts)

Ammolite, fluorite, the Hawk Talon trinket, Cobalt Petrified Wood, the Abalone Shell Fragment, the Cat Eye trinket and the Shark Tooth trinket - where each one is and what it does.

The step-by-step version saves your place, times your run and ticks off your Ledger as you go.

The steps

1. Ammolite: set your waypoint

   • Where: Spot marked on the map at 0:12

   The ammolite and fluorite are the first two rare items. Set a waypoint on the spot the video marks on the map at 0:12 (the video does not say the place name) and pick up the AMMOLITE there.

2. Keep going to the loot box (halfway)

   Carry on along the route. When you see this LOOT BOX you are about halfway to the fluorite. Open it for a billfold, a coin sack and aged pirate rum.

3. Take the fluorite

   Take the FLUORITE at the end of the route. Ammolite and fluorite sell to a fence for $25 each - the video knows of no other use.

4. Hawk Talon trinket (cannot be crafted)

   The second item is the HAWK TALON TRINKET - it cannot be crafted, only found. Open the lock box. It permanently lowers stamina drain by 30% while drawing a bow.

5. Cobalt Petrified Wood by Lake Isabella

   • Where: Lake Isabella, Grizzlies West

   The 3rd item: ride to Lake Isabella / Deadboot Creek Gorge / Beartooth (map at 2:48). Search the CHEST to find the Cobalt Petrified Wood. It crafts the Boar Tusk Talisman (horse cores drain 10% slower).

6. Abalone Shell Fragment in Rhodes

   • Where: Rhodes

   Ride into Rhodes (by Caliga Hall on the map). Pet the mangy bluetick coonhound on the way - always stop to pet the doggo. In the house, take the ABALONE SHELL FRAGMENT. It crafts the Bison Horn Talisman (stamina core drains 10% slower). You can take the canned fruit and vegetables too.

7. Cat Eye trinket on the island by Braithwaite Manor

   • Where: Island by Braithwaite Manor

   Go to the shore by Braithwaite Manor and SWIM to the little island. Open the lock box for the CAT EYE TRINKET - fortifying tonic effects last 20% longer.

8. Shark Tooth trinket near Van Horn

   • Where: Near Van Horn Trading Post

   The last rare item: the SHARK TOOTH TRINKET, at the spot marked near the Van Horn Trading Post / Annesburg (map at 5:12). Open the lock box. Horse bonding experience +10%.
