Open Pearson's crafting book and read the list
- Where: Pearson's wagon, Horseshoe Overlook camp
Go to Pearson's wagon at camp and open CRAFTING UPGRADES. Each upgrade lists what it needs at the BOTTOM of the recipe.

Pay off the ledger: medicine and food wagons
- Where: The ledger on Pearson's wagon
First, fully upgrade the wagons. At the ledger (Pearson's wagon) press GIVE ALL DEBTS, then buy the medicine wagon upgrades (bitters, snake oil...) and the provisions upgrades (fresh fruit, canned goods...).

Buy the ammunition upgrades

In the ledger buy every AMMUNITION AND ARMS upgrade (revolver & pistol ammo, repeater ammo, rifle/shotgun ammo, then fire bottles & high velocity repeater ammo).

Animal 1: alligator by Braithwaite Manor
- Where: Swamp by Bolger Glade / Braithwaite Manor
The first animal is the alligator in the water by Bolger Glade / Braithwaite Manor, south of Rhodes (map at 3:58). Track it, kill it cleanly and skin it.
