Gambler challenges 1-10

Poker, Blackjack, Five Finger Fillet and Dominoes - where to play each one and exactly when to hit, stand, double down or go all-in.

The step-by-step version saves your place, times your run and ticks off your Ledger as you go.

The steps

1. Gambler 1: win poker hands in the poker story mission

   • Where: The poker story mission

   The Gambler challenges unlock in the story mission where Arthur plays poker (at the table with Luther and Marvin). Wins do not have to be in a row. The mission works like a tutorial, so you get good cards - you will always win the first hand.

2. Bet big on good hands

   On the last betting round go really high or all-in.

3. Keep playing poker at camp

   • Where: Your camp poker table

   Only after that mission do the other games unlock at camp. Only play a good hand - one with an ACE, or any PAIR (same number or same suit) - and FOLD the rest.

   • Sit at the camp poker table
   • Play only aces or pairs
   • Fold everything else

4. Beat Lenny and Uncle

   Lenny sometimes bluffs, but if you bet high enough he folds. Uncle thinks you are bluffing most of the time. A split pot still counts as a win. Playing against just ONE other player (like John) is easiest.

5. Gambler 2: Blackjack double downs

   Only DOUBLE DOWN if your total is 12 or lower. Win 5 hands that way.

   • Play Blackjack
   • Double down on 12 or less
   • Win 5 of those hands

6. Gambler 3: Five Finger Fillet

   Win 3 games. You can watch your opponent's turn first - you get the SAME sequence of buttons, so learn it while they play.

7. Gambler 4: bust a poker table

   • Where: Flatneck Station (and the other poker spots)

   Wait until you are dealt a good hand, then go ALL IN. Sometimes you just get lucky. You need to bust out a player in each poker location (the video gets Flatneck Station here).

8. Gambler 5: Dominoes at Emerald Station

   • Where: Emerald Ranch station

   This one is hectic. Play at Emerald Ranch station when there is only ONE other player. Place dominoes so your opponent has to keep drawing - e.g. if you have four 5s, put them on the ends.

   • Join a game with one opponent
   • Block the ends so they must draw
   • Win 3 rounds without drawing a tile

9. Gambler 6: beat the Blackjack dealer

   • Where: Rhodes (and the other Blackjack table)

   The dealer always stands on 17. If you have 17 or more, stand. If you have 11 or less, HIT. Beat the dealer in Rhodes and in the other Blackjack location.

   • Hit on 11 or less
   • Beat the dealer in each location

10. Gambler 7: Five Finger Fillet everywhere

    You only need to beat ONE opponent in each location. You get the same sequence as your opponent.

11. Gambler 8: Blackjack with 3+ hits

    Keep HITTING while you are under 10, and make sure you have an ACE. A push (tie) does not count. Sometimes you just get lucky with low numbers.

12. Gambler 9: Dominoes at camp

    • Where: Your camp

    The easiest place is camp - only one opponent, so it is easier to win in a row. Play your HIGHEST numbers first so that if you lose a round the opponent is not ahead by much.

13. Gambler 10: 3 poker wins in a row

    Honestly you just have to hope for luck. Playing against one person at camp makes it easier.
